Charles (Chuck) Akers - Technology Director

Dr. Chuck Akers has acted as Chief Scientist and Technical Marketing for FailSafe Air Safety Systems, an infection control technology company, where he was responsible for planning and execution of product development, validation testing and tactical marketing approaches.

Previously to FailSafe, Chuck acted as Senior Scientist for Omnipharm Research International, a diagnostic medical device and pre-clinical drug discovery and development company; Technical Advisor to GEMCOR, including development of a New Product Development Handbook to integrate customer based product attributes with enabling aerospace technology; and Program Director of Chemical Defense for Calspan Corporation responsible for coordinating RDT&E activities for government and industrial customers.

Chuck has provided technical assistance with Medical Conservation Devices, where he is the principal investigator on an $890,000 R&D grant; and First Wave Products Group, where he is the co-inventor on two patent applications.
