August 1, 2019 — Batavia, New York — First Wave Products Group, LLC, a subsidiary of First Wave Technologies, Inc. (“First Wave” and “company”), announces that the company has received a $40,000 non-dilutive grant from the National Grid PLC (“National Grid”) matched by other company funds. Grant funding will be used to further support advances for First Wave’s Clarity-I® anesthesia system, specifically underwriting a portion of the design for manufacturability analysis and partially paying for the second of three usability studies.
First Wave has already identified two partners to assist with these goals: NextCorp, a firm offering technology commercialization support; and Core Human Factors, a firm providing expertise in identifying “the human factor” to fit a product to the physical, cognitive, and perceptual characteristics of end users. First Wave expects to begin the aforementioned activities immediately.
According to First Wave’s Chief Executive Officer and Director, Brian Bell, “Being selected for this grant from National Grid is an extreme honor. They have been a long support of of economic development in the region. We appreciate their continued support as we work to advance Clarity-I® further down the path to commercialization. We feel that recognition from a well-respected name will also work to raise First Wave’s visibility and corporate profile.”
